Agrofert is allowed to acquire Radio Impuls
On the basis of the following transaction AGROFERT will gain exclusive control over the Czech radio station Rádio Impuls, local radio station RockZone 105,9 and over the company LIN a. s., which deals with mediatory activities in the area of selling of advertising space, promotional and marketing activity within radio stations operated by LONDA group.
The Office in its decision certified that the activities of AGROFERT and LONDA group do not overlap horizontally due to the fact that acquirer has not performed any activity in the area of radio broadcasting until now. Overlap of activities which was found out in the area of internet advertising is quite marginal.
With respect to conglomerate character of the merger in the areas of radio broadcasting and provision of advertising space in radio and bearing in mind insignificant overlap in the area of internet advertising the Office came to a conclusion that assessed merger will not increase market power of merging companies to an extent which would result in significant distortion of competition in relevant areas.
