Complaints
COMPLAINTS ON UNFAIR TRADING PRACTICES
Office for the Protection of Competition (hereinafter referred to as “the Office”) is the enforcement authority pursuant to Article 4 of the DIRECTIVE (EU) 2019/633 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 17 April 2019 on unfair trading practices in business-to-business relationships in the agricultural and food supply chain. Complaints relating to alleged unfair trading practices shall be addressed to the Office.
Complaints can be filed in case that a supplier with registered office in the Czech Republic considers itself as a victim of unfair trading practices or a buyer with registered office in the Czech Republic is suspected of committing unfair trading practice.
Complaint shall be filed:
- in written form and sent to the headquarters of the Office – Office for the Protection of Competition, trida Kpt. Jarose 7, 604 55 Brno, Czech Republic;
- by fax: +420 542 167 112;
- by e-mail: posta@uohs.cz
In case of need, it is possible to contact the representative of the Office by phone via central telephone number of the Office: +420 542 167 111, from Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
It is possible to lodge a complaint in any form. Each complaint will be assessed having regard to sensitivity of gained information and securing its protection in compliance with the particular legislation. The Office is authorized to request additional information during the investigation, which is necessary for the assessment of the particular case.
Complaint shall include the information on the complainant (in case of consequent need for additional information), on the subject matter, on evidence needed to prove the information included in the complaint.
After receiving the complaint, the Office informs the complainant about further steps in relation to the particular complaint.
The Office also deals with anonymous complaints, however, not only the Office cannot inform the complainant about the result of its complaint, but also it cannot request for additional information in that case.
