St. Martin´s Conference 2017
The traditional introductory overview of recent trends and developments of the Czech and European competition law and policy will be followed by the Panel on Distortion of Competition by State Administration Authorities. The second panel will be dedicated to Dealing with Online Platforms focusing especially on digital single market strategy. The digital market issues, especially the matter of online platforms, are currently considered to be very challenging and one of the leading issues of European as well as national competition policies.
The topic of buyers’ alliances reflecting the last amendment to the Act on Significant Market Power as well as current issues and challenges on conducting dawn raids will be discussed on the second day of the conference. Following parallel workshops will be carried out during the second day:
- Recent issues and procedural updates in the field of Significant Market Power;
- Compliance and the enforcement of competition law;
- Potential changes of merger notification thresholds.
The St. Martin´s Conference will be not only an unique event for exchanging information on the most significant trends and developments in the Czech and European competition law, but also an excellent opportunity for meeting of leading domestic as well as foreign experts from both – public and private sector and discussing various competition issues. Among others, representatives of the European Commission and academics will attend the conference too.
The working language of the conference will be Czech and English with simultaneous translation.
